I’ve decided to close my Super Money – Utkarsh Small Finance Bank credit card, and here’s why.
My bill was generated on 1st Feb with a due date of 15th Feb. I received a WhatsApp notification when the bill was generated, but after that, there were no reminders about the upcoming due date.
Normally, I use the Super Money app only for scan & pay transactions. I don’t regularly open the “Cards” section. I also manage and pay all my other credit card bills via CRED, which sends multiple reminders before the due date.
However, this card cannot be added to CRED because the bank doesn’t support that integration. If it was supported, I would have at least received reminders from CRED and paid on time. I only realized the payment was due when I accidentally opened the Cards section in the app — and by then, it was already 2 days past the due date.
The most disappointing part: No due date reminders before the deadline No alerts immediately after crossing the due date I was charged ₹600+ as overdue charges on a bill of around ₹6,500
For a digital-first product, this is a major drawback. Timely reminders are basic hygiene for a credit card product.
I take responsibility for missing the payment, but the lack of reminder notifications — especially post-due date — makes the user experience quite poor.
Because of this, I’ve decided to close the card.
Has anyone else faced similar issues with this card or Utkarsh Small Finance Bank?
