Is this field oversaturated?

I initially wanted to be a plumber, but part of me thinks electrician is more my speed. Although, I hear this is THE trade everyone wants to join. I heard people are leaving coding and joining electricians in high numbers. Should I go through this, or will it be too competitive to get a job?
