All black suit for grad ball

I have a black jacket and I have the option to either wear a white or black shirt for my grad ball. My hair is really black and my eyes are similar so I feel like the all black would go well with it. However after browsing on this subreddit, I’ve found that all black isn’t generally the most looked upon. Does that change when the event is something like a grad ball or prom?
