Poor sportsmanship??
I'm Canadian, and I haven't liked seeing how a few of the Canadian athletes handled defeat in the last few days.
Reece Howden, who tore off his bib, then took an interview but wouldn't look either the camera or the interviewer in the eye, repeated over and over "it's an absolute joke" referring to the weather conditions. Like he's never skied in a blizzard before lol.
Whining about the wax on their skis, complaining about lack of funding, just generally not acting Canadian. Even the women's hockey medal ceremony, they looked more sullen than gracious.
I don't like to compare us to the Americans, but when you see someone like Ilia Malinin give interviews after a crushing defeat and try to stay positive, I have to say it makes us look small.
I remember my dad telling my brother (US National Team, World Championship bronze) that second place was actually "first loser" but don't think we ever truly believed that. I know emotions run high, but winning silver-or bronze-is no small accomplishment.
