Help finding the right docking station
I'm sure others have had the same challenge! I've been trying to find the right docking station for my setup. However, the mix of connection types makes it hard for me to understand what I actually need in order to get the desired result. Hence why I'm asking for help here!
Long story short, I want a central docking station between my computers and my monitors. I want both monitors to work either when I'm using my MacBook or Windows PC. I'm also not sure what cables I could best use, any tips would be appreciated.
Ideally, I would like to have a few ports to charge my accessories like keyboards and mouse. I also noticed that some docking stations have storage? Seems like a cool way to store personal files from both computers like photos or videos.
Summary setup:
- MacBook Air M4 (for work, connected through USB-C)
- Windows Desktop PC (for gaming, connected through DisplayPort)
- AOC Q32G1-WG4
- Dell UltraSharp U2720Q
- Keyboard: Epomaker TH80 Pro (MacBook through Bluetooth / PC through dongle)
- Mouse: Trackpad for Macbook / Razer for PC through dongle)
I'd appreciate the help here with my puzzle. Perhaps I'm overthinking it, but I can't seem to find the right solution.
