Hypermobility score
Hi everyone, I just joined this community and I'm wondering how many other people have had similar experiences to me.
I'm currently being investigated for hEDS, it's looking highly likely I'm going to get the diagnosis, and I've been through the basic assessment process now so I'm just waiting on results. I had my assessment with a physiotherapist where she scored me using the Beighton Score and checked some of the other symptoms. I was shocked when I read the information a bit after that said to meet the particular criteria for hEDS you only need a 5 out of 9. I scored a 9 out of 9!
Hypermobility syndrome has already been added to my medical records, understandably I think, and I've been referred to the physiotherapy department for ongoing support regardless of how the rest of the assessment process goes.
I think it's crazy that I've gotten to nearly 32 years old and no one noticed any of this before when I've scored so high!
Has anyone else scored so high but didn't get even any signs or suggestions from anyone that there was anything abnormal until later in life? I think it's ridiculous how little people seem to know about these conditions or anything related, with such an extreme abnormality someone should have noticed!
