Do you really think Ban’s going to die?
I want to know if people actually believe that Ban’s going to kick the bucket, as detailed in Guinevere’s vision.
At first I thought it might have been played off as a sever injury—but Guinevere seems to genuinely believe he’s going to die, based on her interaction with him. So, forgetting the speculation of how it’s going to happen, and how that leads to Lancelot, I just want to know if you think Ban will be killed.
Personally, I’m on the fence. On the one hand, I think Ban’s death flags have been overdone. It’s no longer subtle implication—everyone is now waiting every chapter, expecting him to die. Sure, Escanor’s death was also implied, but in a more subtle fashion that was easy to forget in the midst of everything else that was going on, so it didn‘t come off overly strong.
I guess, with all the implications, I feel that having Ban die would be too predictable at this point.
But, on the other hand, if you want to stick to Arthurian legend, King Ban was killed when Lancelot was a baby. And, as the only remaining human of the Sins (sans Merlin), Cath needs to get rid of Ban. Going into headcanon territory but, if the Coffin of Enteral Darkness is brought back to seal away the other races, then Ban would be the only one remaining (not sure if Gowther would get sealed, but he’s pretty easy to incapacitate without outright killing him).
I think it would be cool if Lancelot could “give” the LotL’s powers to save Ban (like he did for Eliane). That way, Ban won’t have to die, and Lancelot can develop his own abilities without relying on the Lake’s power.
