Retire Early by Investing in Companys that Pay a Growing Dividend
I tried a variety of investing strategies over the past 4 decades, all with limited success. In 2010 I began investing in a small number of financially stable Canadian companies that had a history of paying their shareholders a significant and growing dividend. I would hold the shares and add to my position, as long as the companies continued to be financially successful. Research has shown that such companies will provide patient investors with a stable and growing dividend income that is unaffected by volatility in the market prices of the underlying companies.
I have prepared a chart that shows the total annual dividend income generated by my portfolio since 2010 as compared to the dividend income that would have been generated, had I invested the same amount in a popular Canadian Dividend ETF. You can find the chart on my website:

The website is intended for educational purposes only and it is free, with no ads or sign-ups necessary. The site explains how to find those companies that meet my dividend investing criteria and it provides a list of the companies in my portfolio as of January 2026, which will give you a place to start. The guidelines and suggestions presented on the site will be of interest to anyone who needs to save and invest for their retirement and, like me, does not have a formal education in business or finance and has only a limited amount of time to manage their retirement savings.
I do not monitor comments on Reddit regularly, but I provide my email address on the website, so if you have questions you can contact me.
