Didn’t expect networking with tutors to work this far

Small win I wanted to share.

A few days ago I joined a tutors group just to connect with people in the same space. No big expectations honestly.

Started chatting normally with one tutor who has a physics background. Just casual conversation about students, subjects, teaching etc. Nothing transactional.

Next day he texts me saying one of his students needed help in my subject and asked if I wanted to connect.

Now I’m teaching that student at $20/hr.

The trust was already there because it came through another tutor.

It really made me realize how underrated simple networking is in tutoring. We all get asked for other subject teachers, but without a circle those leads just go nowhere.

This just showed me that being around the right tutors really matters.

Anyone else here ever landed students through tutor referrals?

Are there any more groups where I can join?
