Double beams

we pulled down the ceiling in the basement to create an exposed beam look with drywall in between. the electrician is coming tomorrow to move the wiring to the sides but above the ceiling there a picture window bump out which is why I think there is another beam running against this one and goes all the way to the end of the picture window . can it be trimmed down and braced the other beam with metal or can anyone think of an aesthetic work around for this?
