No regret, but I’m drained

Adoption Regret/Doubt

First of all, I don’t regret getting my baby at all but since topic is close, I’ve chosen this flair.

I got my one orange braincell in November and he’s too close to be my dream cat. Loves cuddling, gives headbumps, purrs loudly, comes to me without me begging…

But since the day he’s moved in, I haven’t been sleeping without distractions, haven’t been able to work with full focus (I work from home), cannot have a clean kitchen because no matter how I try I cannot keep him away from the sink, and had to say goodbye to all of my plants.

I was aware of most of these things and I had accepted it before making my decision but I underestimated the sleep and work aspects. It drains me mentally and I haven’t been really in my head for months.

Keeping him out of the rooms where I sleep or work isn’t an option. I know most of these things happen because he’s still too young (7 months) and probably because he’s alone. Getting him a buddy also isn’t an option for at least a couple of months or at all. Honestly I just cannot imagine having two of the same cat. I’d probably live in a wreck then. Even now half of my fur it’s is broken from scratches and I cannot even talk about cleanliness.

I will NEVER come to an idea to separate from him. He’s my one and only, my world, my tiny baby. I’m just too exhausted and don’t even know what I am writing this post for. I wish I could move to a bigger apartment where I can just close the door and work, sleep, do my yoga, without him having to be locked away from his own area but the housing crisis in the city where I live sucks.
