The Sartori Series is so damn cringeworthy. [Possible Spoilers]

Might get downvoted for this, but I really just have to rant. Don't read this if you're a fan of the series. This is not for you.

I was scrolling sa TikTok and found the series. People talked so much and recommended the books to the point na I genuinely thought it was good. I wanted to read a nice dark romance book din kasi, however, upon searching the series itself, I was appalled.

Una pa lang 'yung sa names. I don't know if it's the fact that authors nowadays want their characters to be severely unique na umaabot na sa sobrang grabe ng pangalan. But to each their own, I guess. Hindi naman ako super bothered sa pangalan.

Anyway, I tried reading Damien's story, but I could not, for the life of me, finish it. To be fair, it was several years ago, but I can't lang talaga, especially when the female lead warms up to her kidnappers less than a week in. And wala siyang pakialam na nakidnap and na-grape 'yung iba niyang kasama? Although some readers are saying na "pinakawalan" naman daw. Still, wala man lang reaction given na, at that time, it was the truth for her??? Her fear is so diminished that it might just very well have been the wind.

But like I said, I decided to just drop the book and move on with my life. Kasi it was an old one, plus, like the others said, it might not be for everybody. Until recently, my blockmate told me about it and how she liked Vlodemir's story. Told me to give it a try and let her know my thoughts. So, I did. Once again, I did. I'm sorry for skipping the other stories, I just thought I'd give the recent one a try, because surely the writing must've improved, right? After all, it's been what, like 5 or 6 years?

I'm dead wrong. At the very least her sentences and paragraphs are now grammatically correct, pero 'yung writing style, gano'n pa rin. Kung ano 'yung nasa snippets na nakikita ko kada may spoiler sa mga stories niya na dumaraan sa feed ko, it's still the same.

And this is supposedly a dark romance? More like erotica. Puro sex ang nasa isip ng FL. Seryoso ang scene, sex. Emotional ang scene, sex. Masaya ang scene, sex.

For goodness' sake, what is this story? Parang walang substance kausap 'yung ibang characters na puro sexual terminologies ang linya. Nagbabatuhan ng lines na sobrang squammy, at puro internet, kanal humor. You guys are supposed to be part of the mafia, but you act like street thugs? High schoool ba? Hormonal kids? Sobrang straight ng Filipino, but they didn't grow up here and was overseas most of the time. I don't get it at all.

I managed to get through it because I wanted to at least give it a chance, but UNTIL THE VERY END, sobrang cringe. What do you mean they are literal SENIOR CITIZENS and adults, but act like you're all teenagers?

After 36 years na magkahiwalay, ang una niyong pinag-usapan ay sex? What do you mean you're talking to your daughter about wanting to get hard-fucked by her father? Nasa bingit ng kamatayan, muntik nang mamatay, hindi nagpapagamot, terminally ill, pero may abs, muscle at maganda pa rin ang katawan? Like what?

The reunion was so underwhelming, it didn't feel like 36 years had passed, at iniisip pa nila na patay ang isa't isa niyan, ha? Parang nag-part lang sila last Saturday, tapos nagkita nung Tuesday. It's not emotional at all, lalo na may pasingit pang cringe jokes.

Overall, it was a painful read.
