Rental Car Advise in the US for 24 y.o. driver

Trip Planning

Hey there!

Me (24 y.o.) and my friend (25+ y.o.) are looking to rent a car for a roadtrip in Arizona and New Mexico.

We'd like both of us to be able to drive the rental for safety and practical reasons, but we have several issues. My friend is good to go, 25+ y.o. and has a credit card, however I'm only 24 and only have a debit card.

I've seen some companies allow under 25 drivers and also allow debit cards (such as Hertz), but I'd like to ask which car rental company would you recommend us to use in this situation? We have our return flight tickets booked. We're also looking to add extra insurance to the car, from a rental company. We're aware of extra fees for "young" drivers and are willing to pay them, if they're reasonable. We're both EU countries citizens with EU debit/credit cards, we both have valid international driver's licences.

Thank you for your answers!
