This is going beyond insomnia…

I’ve had insomnia and sleep troubles, but never in my life had it gotten this out of hand. I’ve always had a delayed sleep time, usually around 3am but often straying as far as 5.

But now, it’s a whole other beast. I don’t know what happened but it just shifted over the past few weeks to a beast so completely unmanageable. It started being 7am. That was just barely okay, but then, if I got insomnia on top of the delayed sleep time, it would be cop 9am. The. N the 9am started sticking, now I’m looking at 9am with as far as 13 if I’m having insomnia on top of it.

I can’t force myself to wake up early because I have a disease (physical health problem) and if I get less than the sleep I need i basically get extremely sick and unable to function. I also can’t take sleep meds (no melatonin and no prescriptions) because of the issues caused by these health issues.I’ve been missing a lot of appointments and stuff and I’m losing money and health.

The only other suggestion I’ve seen is to “push forward” and cycle back around, but I’ve been warned by others that this could result in a permanent sleep phase disorder where I will just cycle around the clock for the rest of my life?? So I don’t want that either.

I’m so hopeless. I’ve never had anything like this happen. Every night I think this is the one where I’ll sleep but I don’t. It’s horrible. I wouldn’t even mind just getting it back to 5am. That was working fine for me. But this right now isn’t living.
