Pavlova Advise - following an ATK recipe

I’m making ATKs ‘Chocolate Pavlova with Berries and Whipped Cream’ as a dessert tonight for a nice meal I’m making my new wife (got married on Valentine’s Day, very excited about)

ATKs recipe calls for 1.5tsp of white vinegar in the meringue but in my mind it makes sense to use cream of tartar instead.

This is my first time making pavlova (had not even heard of it till now) so perhaps the vinegar is needed and can’t be substituted but would cream of tartar work or no?
