Is there chemistry?
I had my first date in 28 years recently. We had good conversation if a little impersonal (some personal info but a lot about world events, etc.). He was polite, right on time, dressed up a bit. All in all it was a good date but I didn’t feel any particular connection. My friend says we can’t expect instant chemistry at our age. Do you agree? I’m not ruling out a second date if he would ask, but can’t really picture myself with him either.
Update: Thanks for the input. It’s helped me clarify what I’m hoping to find. I do want sparks. I’m just beginning to date again and I’m not looking for a long-term relationship. So my priority for now is chemistry (and other qualities). That doesn’t mean my date wasn’t a great guy or that we couldn’t potentially build something. I think I’m just not interested in building. He’s also interested in marriage so I just have to let this one go (if he even asks). We met in the “wild” so didn’t know these things about each other.
