I fucked up yesterday
Ok look, so I'm sure this may not be a big deal for anyone, but it is for me. I just want to vent it out. :')
I was at Walmart today, but for some reason I wasn't feeling very good, so I just wanted to go in and out. Not that I was rushing or anything, I was walking at a normal speed, but the only thing I could process was where to go, what to avoid, not to bump into people, etc.
I was in an aisle and was heading out of it. There were three women at the end of the aisle, one of them was standing on the side of the aisle but there was still space for me to walk past behind her, but the moment I was passing her, another lady entered the aisle, continuing to walk towards my way. I could've stepped back or said "excuse me", but I didn't really process it fast enough that I shoved myself between the lady standing on the side of the cart and the one walking towards me.
I am hard of hearing, I had my hearing aids but they only make sounds louder, not clearer, so I heard something nice like sweetheart or darlin'. I turn around to see who it was and I see the lady behind thr cart (not the one on the side), smiling at me. I smiled at her and nodded, thanking her. There was a pause, noticing everyone's faces. It wasn't a genuine smile and the others looked disappointed. I dropped my smile and said, "I'm sorry, can you repeat that again?" It turns out she said, "pardon!"
I was shocked, I haven't been confronted like this in a long time so I don't know what I could have done wrong. "Oh! What happened?" She told me that I shoved the woman standing on the side of the cart. I was so embarrassed, I deeply apologized, especially to the one I pushed, and the lady who was initially smiling (she wasn't smiling anymore) told me "thank you" and things were done from there.
I was so embarassed, it's not something I would've done if I was in a right mind yesterday, but now it's morning, I feel better now, and looking back, yea that was rude of me. I'm a bit over it now, it'll pass so please don't be condescending, I just need to let this out.
