Male boss flirting or maybe being friendly?

My male boss told me that sometimes it feels easier to talk to me more than his own wife. I told him I view him as a freind but most importantly respect him being my boss first and foremost. He then asked me if I could feel him wanting to be my freind. I told him I could, and then he said he would hate if anything ever changed our friendship.

Do I view this as definite flirting or is is he maybe being very friendly?
