I Love Sundays (still)

I just wanted to post about how much I still love Sundays. I left the church almost 4 years ago and when I first left, Sundays felt so exciting. Even though I had not been going to church for a while, I felt like I could the day without guilt.

Now, the excitement has died down, but I still just feel happy when Sundays roll around. Another day to myself. I used to need to wake up early, get ready, attend church and all meetings, possibly even more meetings, and then get ready for the work/school week.

This morning I slept in with my cats, ordered breakfast to be delivered, turned a show on, and started working on grad assignments. Even when I work on assignments or spend the day with friends or family, it still feels like the day belongs to me and what I need to do.

Anyway, the magic of Sundays hasn’t died off, and I hope it never does. It’s one of my favorite things about leaving the Mormon church.
