Looking at getting a lens to compliment my R10 + 50mm 2.8 (want something wider)
I am getting really torn on my options. My budget is also fairly limiting - $300.
The three options that have stuck out are the
rf 16mm 2.8
rf 10-18mm
rf 28mm 2.5
I don't really know any options within my budget?
I love my 50mm, but it crops is very tight for some shots I'd like to get. I want something that is wider, but I haven't landed exactly what I want.
Two things that give me a bit of a clue is that when I had my canon t3i I loved my 24mm. I have a lot of shots with that
I actually was with Fuji for a minute, before going to Canon. I had a 18-55. That lens was great. I noticed I did use is wide open (18mm) a significant amount. I also seems to have photos I really like around the 24mm as well.
So it seemed in the past 24mm was a sweet spot, but there where times where I liked a wider 18mm shot. I like some architecture and landscape.
Right now I am working within a budget of $300. Canon, from what I've seen, really only hits the three I already listed in that range. And sigma will easily get my over $500..
So there really isn't a budget option that covers that 18-28mm range. The 10-18mm I am most concerned about due to low light performance. Plus 16mm is plently wide for me tbh.
So I am a bit torn between something that is a more drastic change from my 50mm and something that is closer, but still wider then my 50mm.
Getting in those wider shots would be cool, but I could also see myself feeling like its to wide for some shots. And then I have a hole between 16mm and 50mm.
I also tend to like prime lenses, but of course this is showing the downside.
Any advice?
