Snow Emergency - Bogus Citation
Woke up this morning to a citation on my vehicle for the snow emergency, printed at 2am this morning.
The street was already plowed to the curb. There are bits of curb showing and everything. And any extra chonky snow where people park is frozen solid because it wasn’t plowed when the temps were a bit warmer anyway.
Stupid citation is $56. I am lucky and can afford it. But I’m still pissy. The rules say that if the street is plowed to the curb, it is considered plowed fully and all is done. I’m mad for the people that the $56 is a significant hit to them.
I took a video of the curb how it looks right now, and there are additional cars still parked with citations on their windshields. The plows would have potentially scraped a tiny layer of ice off of the tops of the frozen snow that has been driven over multiple times since the snow fell. But there’s no way in hell they would have cleared to the pavement or anything or improved parking ability.
Maybe I’m just ranting. But if anyone has helpful suggestions, feel free to share. Do I actually schedule a time to go in in the next 30 days with my video and photos? What happens if they are all “ummm too bad” - do I get charged more then? Will it possibly help waive the fee for others who parked in the same area if I go in and the city is all “okay yep no charge”?
(and yep, this is my first post on this account because I lost access to my old account blah blah blah)
