CMV: Meth is good for you. (Serious)
I mean this as a first time experience, or a once a year type of activity. Here's why;
- Dopamine & norepinephrine tsunami hits harder than anything legal
You get the subjective experience of being the main character in a movie where the director finally figured out color grading. Everything feels important, urgent, and cinematic for 8–16 hours. Most people’s baseline existence feels like 240p YouTube after that first real dose. The contrast is so extreme that “normal life” literally feels like clinical depression by comparison for a while.
- Task paralysis evaporates
The pile of dishes that’s been judging you for three months? Handled at 3 a.m. while also reorganizing your spice rack alphabetically, writing three manifestos, and planning a podcast. Executive function on meth is cheat-code level until the crash.
- You become temporarily allergic to boredom
Waiting in line, traffic, meetings, small talk—meth makes these experiences feel like literal torture because your brain is now running at 400% motivation/interest. Normal people tolerate boredom; meth users on the upswing literally cannot physiologically tolerate it.
- Social anxiety can do a 180°
For a certain subtype of awkward nerd, the first few times feel like someone finally installed the “charisma DLC.” You talk fast, make eye contact, laugh easily, remember names, and people think you’re mysteriously confident.
Now, change my view!
