Has gemini just stopped reading PDFs mid-conversation?

Is anyone else having issues with Gemini and PDFs lately?

When I start a new chat and upload a PDF, everything works fine. It reads the file and responds correctly to my first prompt, but after that in the same conversation, if I upload another PDF (or even sometimes the same one again), things break.

Either it hallucinates and pretends it read the document when it clearly didn’t, or it straight up says it can’t open the file even though it acknowledges that a document was uploaded.

This has happened to me in at least five different chats.
