I’ve struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I have always been “chubby.” But back in 2022, I hit 88 kg and just decided that enough was enough. I went on a very strict diet and workout routine. I pushed myself hard, probably too hard and I lost about 28 kg over a period of 1.5 years. The problem was that the approach I used wasn’t sustainable for me. It drained me physically and mentally. The second I hit my goal weight, I couldn’t sustain it anymore. I slowly started indulging again. I told myself I’d “get back on track,” but life happened.

The past few years were some of the darkest periods in my life. I was going through a lot, and I had also lost my father. My health wasn’t my priority during that time, and I gained back more weight than I had originally lost.

Three months ago, I realized what I was doing to my body with this lifestyle, and I decided to again try and lose weight. I was dieting and working out, and I was losing weight, but very slowly. What scared me more was how exhausted I felt all the time. Even when I followed my diet perfectly, I had no energy. Working out took everything out of me. After workouts, I would just collapse into bed. Also, the food noise was constant and so overwhelming.

So I finally saw a doctor, got blood work done, and was diagnosed with PCOD and type 2 diabetes.

My doctor recommended that I get on Mounjaro.

I’m only on Day 3, so this is very early, but I feel so different. I feel like I finally have energy. It’s not an insane, hyper energy. It’s just normal energy, the kind I imagine people without metabolic issues feel daily. For the first time in a long time, I don’t feel like I have to fight myself to get up and move. I worked out and didn’t feel like collapsing after. I completed 8k steps and didn’t feel drained. Also, the food noise has reduced dramatically. I’m not obsessing over what to eat next. I’m not battling cravings every hour. It feels manageable. I’ve had mild nausea, but it’s tolerable.

I know it’s early, and I don’t want to overstate anything, but the initial experience feels promising. This time around, weight loss feels doable instead of punishing.

I'll keep updating as i go.
