As the monsters want to torture rather thank kill everyone, what do you think would happen if everyone stood outside during the night

I know the monsters killed everyone at once in victors time, but theories I have seen say that it was to start a new cycle of people. Do you think the monsters would just kill everyone in the town if they stood outside all night even if there doesn’t need to be a new cycle of people yet. Or do you think they’d just pick a few off and hopefully scare some people back inside. I know no one is gonna try this, especially everyone at once so it’s just hypothetical
