Risks & Benefits of Providing SSN and email address on Virginia CHP application

As title says...... just wonder how others have filled those two block out. And what thoughts you might have about providing optional info versus only providing required info.

Email address and Social Security Number. I wonder about privacy risks of this info being released broadly or part of a data breach or even given to the police if you are incorrectly on a suspect list. And also the benefits (like reminders of renewals or more careful processing and avoidance of misidentification). Did you all put it in there?

I've sometimes overachieved and regretted it. I rarely overachieved and felt like I was rewarded.
