Visiting from NYC, dinner rec near Union square?

Getting into our hotel near Union square kind of late at night, so looking for something nearby (either walking or driving) to minimize commute. Doesn’t have to be anything super fancy or fine dining, as we’re visiting the French laundry during this trip.

Specifically looking for a cuisine that SF does better than NYC. TIA!
