Anyway, I was always jealous of stories with a lot of comments and bookmarks.

Half my fics have...okay attention, a few bookmarks and comments here and there. The other half barely even exist in people's mind (>5 kudos for completed works)

It irked me until one of my stories randomly exploded in bookmarks and comments. I assume someone shared it on Discord

Updating it is stressful because so many commenters are expecting me to write in a certain way, not to kill X character, or to ship certain characters together

No wonder people always say: write for yourself, not others
