Any updates on whether heroes will be usable in Wars or CWL while upgrading?

Hi there everyone. It’s been several months since I stopped playing Clash of Clans, with the primary reason being that I have multiple accounts that all reached the point where my heroes were always down for upgrades, and were useless during CWL and Clan Wars unless I regularly halted/managed my upgrades. This made the game no longer fun to play for me.

Has there been any updates on SC re-looking at the possibility of unchaining the heroes during Clan Wars and CWL? Or are the bean counters still being morons and preventing the developers from making the change?
