Should I teach math?
So I've been studying Electrical Engineering, and I've been working PT as a math tutor at a community college while I'm pursuing this degree. The thing is, I'm really enjoying being a tutor. Seeing students have that "light bulb" moment after struggling is incredibly rewarding.
I worked as a mechanical tech and then a controls tech for around a decade, and the worst part about that was never even getting the chance to show my value intellectually. It was always just put your head down and build this damn machine. I started studying EE because I knew I had more to offer, and I had the controls tech experience.
I know that teachers make far less than EEs. I know that they're underappreciated. But damn it, it's really cool to help others learn math. I'm really torn right now, and I need some people to give me a reality check. Or a green light, if it's actually not that bad of a career.
