Evans vs Remo which one’s easier to tune + better QC?

I’m about to start playing in a band that does mostly Afro/Latino stuff , I’m trying to pick heads and I’m stuck between Evans vs Remo.

What I care about:

• easy to tune (I’m not so good at it )

• dry / controlled sound (short sustain, not a ton of ring)

• good quality control

I like Remo, but I keep hearing Evans is more “plug and play” for dry sounds
