are the standard sizes bigger now?

Hi all! So I haven’t been reaching for my newer standard sizes bc they seemed to be way more fabric than before. I thought it was all in my head, but then I compared an older vela from 2-3 years ago to the new one and it looks like a solid 1.5-2 inches larger. Did they change their sizing recently or is this a defect?
