I want to use a save editor on Mac using a virtual machine, any advice?

I really want to edit my tomodachi life save but I only have a macOS, I can’t figure out how to get wine or wine keg to work so I want to try and use a virtual machine. The one I’m going use is UTM so I’m wondering if it would work ok or if there’s a better / easier way to do it :/.
