Nothing I say is interesting and the way I say it lacks charm
I've been trying the 1 minute impromptu speech for a few days to reduce filler words where you take a random word and talk about it. I've noticed while I thankfully dont struggle with that but it's the way the speak, Id say it's very lackluster.
By that, I'm not referring to using big words in speech nor am I refering to having a motivational element to it. Its the way I speak. It's boring & uninteresting. My choice of words, they leave absolutely no impact, theres no personality.
So far I have identified two ways I can achieve that:
- read more books, especially classics.
- have a public speaker with the qualities I want to shadow him/her.
I know someone irl (he's not an online figure) who makes everything sound interesting, while I do agree his vocabulary plays a part, it's his ability to make talking sound like storytelling. I don't have any direct contact with him, so I need someone who carries such qualities so I can shadow them.
I want to sound like I have a soul, I have watched a few motivational speakers here & there, but none of them appeal to me. I don't think I care about sounding motivational, I just want to sound like someone who has had rich life experience (although it's not really true for me)
