I get frustrated at the idol when they apologise for things they shouldn’t be apologising for.

Thought

Yeji recently was on live eating snacks and a weirdo fan apparently commented “lets stop eating snacks from now on.” Very strange behaviour of course but instead of either not addressing the comment or condemning the fan she instead reassures the fan saying she doesn’t eat snacks often and say her blood sugar was low.

Situations like this occur all the time in kpop and when it does happen I find myself very annoyed at the idol. Each time it happens I feel like it reinforces a dangerous precedent where these fans feel entitled to say anything and bully these idols without any pushback. Especially when its more senior idols like Yeji, who can say something back or at the very least just ignore it, and be completely fine. I can imagine these kinds of fans going around saying this to a rookie idol and destroying their day because the senior idol made them feel like it was ok to act like this.

I remember having a similar feeling when Karina apologised for being a 23 year old woman in a relationship like come onnn
