I don’t like how they handled the cinematic, it felt really shitty and just for plot reasons. I think doomfist is always better but I wanted to make the best possible case I could for Vendetta as I could.

1: Vendetta is Vengeful at her father’s death and hates what talon is doing now:

I think a lot of people misunderstand what Vendetta is actually upset about, she isn’t upset that her dad was killed by Reaper, a member of talon (she is but she is more upset about what talon has turned her fathers empire into, and that she was cast aside, she is not upset at her fathers death, moreover upset about what it’s become)

And I know that it’s doesn’t make sense that just because she is angry, she can beat Doomfist, it doesn’t at all, however as stated multiple times in the story, Pain and Anger dose make people stronger, Both mentally and physically, Illair-Moria and Reaper-genji all quote this. And mentally, someone who has put essentially their whole life into this one goal of taking over talon, she would be made stronger by that.

2: Doom is Old (Some information here may be incorrect, it’s very difficult to find solid timelines for these things, my bad if they are wrong)

People like to mention the old tracer genji and Winston clip, however that takes place before Genji leaves to train with Zenyatta Which took place 5 years after he left Overwatch. Meaning that doomfist has gotten significantly older, this also means that this is a Pre-Zenyatta Genji they are fighting, so considerably weaker then the one in the story right now. People like to also bring up Doomfist tracking tracer through time, which is crazy but we also have to remember this is a Doomfist much younger, someone in their early 30s is not going to have the same reaction time of someone pushing 50. Of course the cinema handled it very poorly and made doom look like a bitch but still, he would still be considerably slower.

3: Doomfist hasn’t really done much.

Ever since becoming the leader of Talon, Doomfist really hasn’t done a whole lot, do I think it’s because the Devs didn’t touch on his story for ages? Yes absolutely, but that would mean that Doomfist hasn’t really done any missions or been in the field nearly as much, that would of course cause him to be rusty, however I can’t talk about him not doing anything if I don’t bring up his fight with Mauga, now it’s implied that Doomfist and mauga fought and it ended in a draw, because neither wanted to admit defeat. We don’t know the details, and we don’t know if Doomfist used the gauntlet or his bare robotic hand, however that would essentially establish them as equals in a way. I don’t have much to debunk this claim, as mauga is a fucking beast, however I do want to mention that Mauga dose seem to still take orders from Vendetta , so not sure if that means anything.

4: Vendetta herself: She is a warrior who has dedicated her whole life to fighting and taking back her father’s empire. We know that she has fought in the Colosseum many times, which is probably where she gets most of her experience, and she has built connections with very powerful people. A lot of people like to bring up the fight with the Robot and say that she was struggling against it, no she wasn’t bro, she got hit one time then proceed to low diff it at most. She’s stated that she has been fighting in the colosseum for a very long time, so if there is anyone that would have the experience of a 1 on 1 fight it would probably be her.

5:Maximillian’s file on Doomfist.

I think this is probably her biggest edge on Doom, Vendetta threatens Maximillian and he gives her files on not only other Talon Members, but Doomfist as well. We don’t know what’s in his file however anything when it comes to weakness or strengths, triggers or blind spots and things like that, it would be in his file. I would have much preferred in the cinematic she used this information to exploit Doomfist. Just a theory of what might have been in the file but something along that line.

Anyways still love Doomfist, my big black king, I’d love to hear other people’s opinions on this though.

The best case I could make for Vendetta beating doom.
