BEWARE of Marion Roos Hotel Puerto Galera

Our stay from February 20–23 was easily the worst experience we’ve ever had. While the rooms are par for the price and cleanliness is just okay, the service and safety standards are nonexistent. Wifi is unusable. The bell boy was rude and staff were rarely at their posts, but that pales in comparison to the accident we were involved in.

The foreigner owner, who was meant to drive us to the port, exited the vehicle without engaging the handbrake. The car rolled backward, narrowly missing one of us and smashing into two tricycles that luckily cushioned the impact. We were left traumatized and stressed, yet the owner/driver completely vanished after the crash.

He never spoke to us or checked if we were okay. While a staff member named Glen tried to help and the Filipina owner eventually arrived to apologize and comp our entire stay, the foreigner owner remained a "no-show." No amount of compensation justifies such life-threatening negligence and cowardice. Stay away.
