Might be reactionary but the match against south africa really showed the difference between sloggers and proper players. Scoring 230+ on roads in bilaterals doesn't mean anything if we cant even reach 150 in t20 wc. We need anchors in the t20 team, especially against quality oppositions on good, even pitches and no matter whatever your opinion of shubman gill is, he's best suited for the role, despite his disappointing performances in the asia cup, he has the potential to perform the best on difficult pitches, this ipl will be crucial if gill wants to solidify his place in the lineup, same goes for Jaiswal and some other players. Kohli did it, maybe its time to start integrating jaisu, gill or even ruturaj in this t20 lineup. Not saying that i dont support the current team, but maybe we need to change according to conditions on particular pitches, especially in world cups, we only won 2024 wc because of bumrah and bowling, individual moments of brilliance ( rohit vs aus ) and the anchroing performance by kohli and bapu in the final. Also its funny how some players are called flat pitch bullies yet the "actually good players" keep on failing on said flat pitches.
Ps Before commenting remember that this is a GT sub (we do have some biases, like most humans ) and what I've said is just my opinion, you dont need with agree with it but also dont be a dick.
