Coping with the questions?
Since I first started having flare ups, it seems like my rosacea is the one thing about my appearance that people feel very comfortable commenting on/asking me questions about. The most common situation is when people try to tell me that I need to put on sunscreen because my nose is sunburnt. When I’m around young kids, they’ll ask me (loudly) ‘what’s wrong with your face?’. If I tell people I have rosacea, I get unsolicited advice about how their nephew’s wife’s cousin has rosacea and used a miracle cure.
Every time this happens I feel so much shame, even though I know this isn’t something to be ashamed of. How does everyone cope with the constant scrutiny? I just want to be able to go outside without color corrector and not have to worry about all this.
