Is there any trusted method to check if branded products are authentic?

I ordered a branded backpack online that looked premium, but the stitching came off after a few uses. Packaging and logo were perfect though, so I never suspected anything. Fake fashion items are getting too convincing. Is there any other way to check the authenticity of products?
