Why does every online poker site feel like it's bleeding me dry with rake?

I've been playing online poker casually for about 3 years now, mostly micro and low stakes cash games. Lately it just feels like no matter how well I run, the rake eats half my winnings before I even cash out. PokerStars, GG, and even some of the smaller ones are all the same story. The rake is insane on 2/4 and below, and the caps don't help much when you're playing tight. Is this just how it is forever, or are there actually platforms out there that don't punish winning players this hard? Anyone found something that actually lets you keep more of the pot long-term? Tired of feeling like the house always wins even when I do.
