18 and 27 i need help!

When I was 15 i met a guy at my first job we got to know each other and started playing videogames. Both of us playing tennis so we startedplaying that and working out together. But at 17 when i started college i switched gyms and we slowly stopped communicating. But i’ve never stopped thinking of him. The be honest a big reason why i distanced myself from him was because i was attracted to him. Now when im 18 i wanna start talking and see if i can come over iykwim. The problem is that he is 27 years old and i’ve never been with a guy. Plus i dont know if he is gay, in just getting that feeling yk. What should i do? And is this wierd ?
