Teacher's Protections Rights

QLD

Hi all.

For privacy sake, everything will be anonymous about this post. TLDR, I am a second year located in Queensland who has been repeatedly assaulted teacher with some questions.

Today I was assaulted (pushed and shoved) at bus duty. Last Friday the same thing happened with the same student.

Both incidents recorded with the school and sent to admin. Admin have not done anything about the incident or student.

This is the fifth consecutive week since term started at this school that I have been verbally or physically assaulted.

The questions I have are:

  1. Is this industry norm? Am I expected to just take abuse until I burn out and they replace me with someone else?
  2. If the school won't protect me, can I ask for union intervention?
  3. If the school and union won't protect me, what legal protections can I fall back on?

Thank you for your guidance.
