Is it even worth it?

Student

For context, I’m a first year student in software engineering in my second semester of university. I go to a pretty good university but so far have only taken introductory level classes. I started coding last semester learning python now I’m learning various things like java, bash, c, and other things on my own like typescript, html and css. However it’s just unrealistic for me to master those things in such a short period of time so often if I’m working on a project I’m resorting to vibe coding which ideally I know I shouldn’t. Which is why I plan to just study and also learn the hard way to code in due time (whenever that will be even possible)

Even so I’m sure you all know it’s hellish for a first year like me to get an internship placement anywhere and I’ve read that it doesn’t get better when you’re looking for jobs. Plus with the way AI has been growing, I don’t even know if the skillset I’m learning in the next 4 years will be relevant to the tech world once I graduate. That’s why I’m considering just a switch in careers, like I already invested time in doing this and I like coding and making projects and stuff like that but it feels like Even after I graduate I have no way of really competing with others. So is it really worth it? Should I keep going or just do something else? If not how should I approach these next 4 years of my life? Thanks for any guidance
