does grief hyperfixate on strange things?
my dog passed away suddenly 5 days ago and I am not coping. I've never experienced grief and have had no reference to grief before this. now i KNOW I hardly left the house and so I spent a lot of time with him but I can't stop thinking about if I DID leave the house too often or didn't take enough pictures or footage of him, I cant bear to look through my phone gallery yet.. I know there ARE pictures of him there but I dont know if there is enough. I feel I was robbed of his life and many more memories. I dont want to start any new hobbies or continue my hobbies anymore. I didnt want to start anything new while Oscar was alive because it may have taken my time away from him. I lived in anticipatory grief for years before this and I feel like the sadness robbed me of my happiness while he was still here.
I keep telling people he didnt hold me back in life. Oscar came first in everything. I'm speaking to a grief counsellor soon to make sense of my thoughts and feelings.
