SIMON, executive producer of XG and CEO of XGALX, has been arrested for illegal drug possession

Discussion

Here's an article about it.

According to media outlets such as Oricon and TBS, police had been secretly investigating the case since last March. On the morning of the 23rd, authorities arrested SIMON and three other men, including Chancellor, one of the primary producers behind XG’s sound, on suspicion of involvement with illegal drugs, specifically cocaine and marijuana. Police reportedly found four bags of cocaine and one bag of marijuana in the hotel room where they were staying.

This is devastating news for XG, especially as they're currently in the middle of their tour. Japan takes drug offenses EXTREMELY seriously. Even marijuana is considered a serious crime. But COCAINE on top of it!? He and others could be facing serious consequences. If he is ultimately convicted, he will almost certainly be removed from the industry and potentially face years of prison time, with Chancellor likely facing the same outcome. Japan has one of the highest conviction rates in the entire world at 99.8%, so the odds are definitely not in his favor.

SIMON has been DEEPLY involved in every aspect of XG, from their concept and music to the broader creative direction and business operations. He built XG from the ground up, so there's no doubt that this situation will have a significant impact on the group and their future. This is so crazy and unexpected...
