Body bar Soap/water in Regular Hand Soap Bottle? Does it work?

So my family has thing where they will put water in soap bottles if it’s about to empty, or if they‘re about to finish a bar of body soap they’ll stick that into the hand soap too. Does doing either of these ruin the quality of the hand soap? I personally really hate it when they do this and would rather just replace it normally. I’m not about to pick a fight though if there really isn’t an issue. I just want clean hands. Please let me know if i should get them to stop.
