Mechs are in a terrible place and need a substantial durability buff.
Mechs have two theaters where they're just not viable above difficulty 5.
I'll be looking at the worst case scenario which is the mini-gun exo, but the problems still apply the math is just different on the autocannon.
The weapon modules on the mechs need far higher health pools + immunity to small arms fire to make them viable on bot/illuminate.
weapon modules getting trashed by light explosion damage on bots has been a pain point forever but when you compare the mechs to the tank destroyer their armor, especially the weapons feels like its made from rice paper.
Hell the FRV has more than double the health of the exo suits, the tyres, made of rubber have only 50 less health than the weapon modules on the exo suits.
They're viable on bugs ... ish but are outclassed by all rounder options like belt fed GL/autocannon in terms of reliable ... just about everything clearing.
The most significant problem being the severely limited ammo especially noticeable on minigun exo.
The minigun has a capacity of 1350 rounds medium pen 90 damage a hit, 1200 RPM
1800DPS, 121,500 total potential damage.
The bastions coax has a capacity of 2000 rounds, heavy pen 150 damage a hit, 600 RPM
1500DPS, 300,000 total potential damage.
The mildly higher DPS completely fails to close the gap on the potential damage output
Even ignoring how huge doing heavy armor damage vs medium is, having only 40% of the damage output of the coaxial gun on a tank destroyer with "minigun" being the dedicated function is a clear sign that some sort of re-balance needs to occur with the main gun.
The mechs are just in really really bad spot for usability right now and need some loving
