Drinking through Naltrexone

I’ve taken Naltrexone a few times in the past to limited degrees of success. I managed to do dry January and then foolishly decided to have a couple of drinks one night in early February. Unsurprisingly I’ve been drunk every night since then. I’ve recently started taking Naltrexone again with the hope that it’ll stop me from going overboard on the booze, but I’m finding that I just drink through it, get hammered, then get a monumental hangover.

For those more skilled in the ways of Naltrexone, is this just a teething issue that will pass or am I expecting too much from this? I’d just like my desire to get wasted to reduce to be honest!
