Please help, I have been searching for nearly 10 years!!

What I have is very vague and may or may not be scenes from multiple movies but I don’t think it is. I watched this on my portable dvd player around 2008-2013. I believe the movie was released sometime in the 2000s. I will list everything I can think of from this movie.

- characters are late teens

- opening scene is a girl laying in the middle of her high school, on the centre of the school logo from what I can remember. Wearing her school uniform (maybe white button up/ red skirt) listening to a song either wired earbuds in

- her father has an office in there house which is dark timber decor and black/brown furniture maybe

- no mother from what I can remember

- a boy come to live with her I think. She brings him a clean set of clothes to his room in the spare bedroom.

- not sure if he ends up living with them or if he just stays for a while, I think he comes from a troubled background

- I think they have a somewhat romantic relationship

- they go to a party/club/rave in industrial area in a building.

- there is a scene by the ocean near the end of the movie with big rock structures (someone possibly dies at the end?)

-maybe a scene under a bridge/overpass with a gun involved

- I think it was a more sad/serious movie not so much a romance or comedy

Please help me find this movie. I go to google every few years and never have any luck so I’m hoping the people of Reddit will come through!
